The power of unfulfilled desires is the root of all of man’s slavery.

Be bored.

Everyone knows what they are here to do. But it’s hard to organise our thoughts if we don’t sit down to think about it. I think it’s because we are never bored.

In a world of constant distractions, it’s important to stop and just be bored. We’re enticed to be different, to be the most eccentric, to be on top of it. But when we get there, we realise that we are all the same. All alone. Living by each other’s misery, trying to impress people to whom we are invisible. People that, like us, have lost their way.

So how do we know if we’re going in the wrong or the right direction? How do we know what we are becoming?

Well first, you are never in the wrong direction. Only distracted. Second, if you’re distracted for long enough, life will slap you in the face when you least expect and bring you back on track. So relax. Your lover might cheat on you, your idol might die, and your eggs might burn – but you’re not bored enough to predict it…

So stop and think about your day. About everyone you love, everyone you hate and everything you were today. When you’re done with this, move forward. Get rid of who your memory tells you you are. Allow yourself to wake up tomorrow and be who you want to be.

Just be bored. Be boring. And bore the fuck out of everyone who tries to mess with you.
